Exclusive from George Martin's Archive: Second Season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" to Show Previously Unseen Story
George Martin provided the series creators with unpublished material that will expand the story of Dunk and Egg in "The Sworn Sword."
In the second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," viewers can expect material that was not included in George R. R. Martin's published books. Series showrunner Ira Parker told The Hollywood Reporter that the writer found several finished pages in his archives and handed them over to the team.
According to Parker, these fragments were incorporated into the continuation and will allow viewers to learn new canonical details of the story of Duncan the Tall and young Aegon Targaryen:
"He gave me some unpublished pages – actual prose that he found somewhere in his archives. We used that material. The most devoted fans will get additional details that, according to George's archives, are considered canon."
The showrunner did not specify which events or characters are related to the found pages. It is only known that the second season primarily adapts the novella "The Sworn Sword," but Martin's additional materials will allow the series to go beyond the published work and expand the story of Dunk and Egg.
The premiere of the second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is scheduled for the first half of 2027.
