The third season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" will feature Celeborn — Galadriel's husband and one of the most influential elves in Middle-earth's history. According to Empire, the role of the Elven lord will be played by Jamie Campbell Bower, known for "Stranger Things" and "Fantastic Beasts".

Previously, the actor's involvement in the project was kept secret. Bower himself described his character as a "romantic in love" and said that in preparing for the role, he was inspired by the relationship between J.R.R. Tolkien and his wife Edith:

"The idea of longing and yearning for each other was very much present in Tolkien and Edith's relationship during the periods when they were separated. I thought a lot about that. Celeborn had to find a way to survive while continuing to long for someone he loved and missed so much."

According to showrunner J.D. Payne, the creators paid special attention to the relationship between Celeborn and Galadriel, played by Morfydd Clark:

"He has a voice that is rich and mesmerizing, as if it holds the wisdom of ages. And when we did a screen test with Morfydd, it immediately became clear that he truly loves her. Everything felt natural and right."

In the first season of "The Rings of Power," Galadriel recounted that Celeborn disappeared after participating in the war and was presumed dead. However, in Peter Jackson's adaptations, the character, played by Marton Csokas, was Galadriel's husband and ruler of Lothlórien, and at the end of "The Return of the King," he journeyed with her to Valinor. In the Amazon series, Celeborn's fate has remained unknown until now.

The third season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" will be released on Prime Video on November 11, 2026.
