Marvel revealed a mysterious resident of Latveria, who is not in the official cast of the film.

At the Marvel Studios booth during San Diego Comic-Con, a costume of a previously unannounced character from the film "Avengers: Doctor Doom" was displayed. The mannequin is labeled "Latverian Witch," but Marvel has not yet revealed her true name, role in the plot, or the actress portraying her.

The costume consists of a green hooded cloak, a metallic mask, a massive buckle, and armored gauntlets. Also displayed nearby are the outfits of Thor, Cyclops, Gambit, Captain America, Yelena Belova, and Sue Storm, which may hint at the Latverian Witch's significant role in the film's plot.

Currently, two theories prevail in the fan community. The first suggests that an alternate version of Wanda Maximoff is hidden behind the mask. Earlier, insiders claimed that the Scarlet Witch might return as an ally of Doctor Doom and play the role of a villain.

According to the second theory, the costume could belong to Cynthia von Doom, Victor's mother. In the comics, she was a powerful witch who made a deal with Mephisto. After her death, Victor von Doom tried to free his mother's soul from the demon's clutches and for this purpose teamed up with Doctor Strange. This story formed the basis of the graphic novel "Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment."

So far, neither of these theories has been confirmed. Marvel Studios has not commented on this information, and Elizabeth Olsen is not in the officially announced cast of the film. Perhaps something will become known during the "Avengers: Doctor Doom" panel, which will take place on July 25th — according to rumors, another trailer will be shown there, the description of which previously leaked online.
