Prime Video unveiled the first teaser trailer for the third season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" at Comic-Con in San Diego.
The events of the sequel will unfold five years after the fall of Eregion, amidst the war of the Elves with Sauron. The Dark Lord's armies have seized a significant part of Middle-earth, with Lindon, Rivendell, and Moria becoming the main centers of resistance. Sauron intends to forge the One Ring to subjugate the owners of the other rings and gain a decisive advantage in the war. Meanwhile, Gandalf must deal with a new threat emerging in the eastern lands of Rhûn.
During the Comic-Con panel, new cast members for the series were also announced. Simon Pegg will voice the Balrog, Eddie Marsan will play the dwarf Thráin – an ancestor of Thorin Oakenshield, Andrew Richardson will portray Anárion of Gondor, Zubin Varla will play the Nazgûl Khamûl, and Adam Young will play a new character, Marnuk. It was also previously announced that Jamie Campbell Bower has joined the project, playing Celeborn – Galadriel's husband.
The premiere of the third season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" will take place on November 11, 2026, on Prime Video.
