At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum shared news about the future of the animated series "X-Men '97". Production of the third season is in its final stages (meanwhile, the team is already preparing storyboards for the fourth), and an updated "Brotherhood of Mutants" will play an important role in its plot.

Attendees of the panel were shown an exclusive clip from the sequel. The video introduced a new lineup for the group: in addition to classic villains — Blob, Pyro, Toad, and Avalanche, the team included the young mutant Surge, capable of controlling electricity. Although the clip has not yet been officially released, a leaked recording from the panel is already actively circulating online.

The second season of "X-Men '97" is currently in full swing on Disney+ — the premiere of the seventh episode out of nine will take place on July 29. The premiere of the third season is expected in 2027 as part of Marvel Television's strategy to release new seasons annually.
