At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, it was officially confirmed that the fourth season of the spin-off "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" will be the final one, and its premiere will take place in 2027.
At the same time, Norman Reedus personally addressed fans on social media, thanking them for their many years of support:
"I can't believe we're here already. Thank you to everyone who has walked this path with us through the good, the brutal, and everything in between. We've gotten a lot of bruises, scars, and concussions during this time. A huge amount of work has been put into the series, especially by the crew. This last chapter will feel different and hit hard. I can't wait for you to see it. See you in 2027."
During his solo journey, Daryl has visited France, England, and Spain, going from a lone wanderer lost on a foreign continent to reuniting with Carol (Melissa McBride). It is expected that in the final season, the heroes will try to return home to Alexandria. In addition, fans are hoping for a long-awaited meeting between Daryl and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), rumors of whose possible return are actively discussed online.
