Amazon changed the release format for new episodes so that viewers immediately feel the scale of changes after the time jump.
Prime Video has revealed the full release schedule for the third season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power." The continuation will premiere on November 11 with four episodes at once – thus, half of the season will be available to viewers on the premiere day. The remaining episodes will be divided into two blocks: episodes 5–6 will be released on November 18, and the final episodes 7–8 on November 25.
This format will allow viewers to immediately immerse themselves in a world transformed after a five-year time jump. During this time, the elves founded Rivendell, Sauron built Barad-dûr and is preparing to forge the One Ring, and the war with the free peoples of Middle-earth has reached its peak.
New characters will also appear in the plot: Celeborn (Jamie Campbell Bower), Anárion (Andrew Richardson), Thráin (Eddie Marsan), Khamûl the Easterling (Zubin Varla). Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Daniel Weyman, Owain Arthur, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and other actors will also return to their roles.
