The animated Rick and Morty spin-off, "President Curtis," has been renewed for a second season even before the official premiere of its first. This was announced by the creative team, led by franchise co-creator Dan Harmon, during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026.
"President Curtis quickly proved he deserved another term! Thanks to Keith David's inimitable and charming performance, and the talent of Dan, James, and the entire team, this show and this president are exactly what people need, even if they don't realize it yet."
Production on new episodes has already begun. Actor Keith David, who voices the head of state, will return to his role, as will Stephanie Beatriz ("Twisted Metal") and Jim Rash ("Community").
The series' plot will focus on President Curtis and his eccentric staff as they tackle insane problems too small or boring for Rick Sanchez. These include interdimensional diplomacy, paranormal investigations, battling cryptids, and encounters with unexplained anomalies.
The premiere of the first season of "President Curtis" is scheduled for July 26, 2026.
