Baldur's Gate 3 Can Now Be Played in Third-Person with WASD Controls - Thanks to Larian Fans

PC gamers will be able to play the game with an alternative camera.

Currently, the Larian Studios team is working on a new installment of the Divinity franchise, while fans continue to support the cRPG Baldur's Gate 3. Recently, an enthusiast under the nickname Relysia introduced a modification designed to change the camera view.

Players will be able to use a third-person "over-the-shoulder" camera view:

This mod is an improved version of Ersh's Native Camera Tweaks. It retains all the original features and adds a separate toggle to switch to a modernized third-person "over-the-shoulder" camera mode, where the camera stays as close as possible to the character.

In third-person mode, the camera will be fixed at a constant distance to maintain a close perspective. During in-game actions such as aiming spells, jumping, or inspecting, the camera temporarily switches to the standard view and then automatically switches back to the "over-the-shoulder" mode.

The "True Third-Person Camera" modification is distributed for free via Nexus Mods. Relysia noted that this project is compatible with another mod for WASD control ("WASD Character Movement" by Ch4nKyy).
