Apple TV has unveiled the full trailer for the second season of the sci-fi series "Dark Matter," based on Blake Crouch's novel of the same name. The continuation will tell an original story, as the first season fully adapted the plot of the literary source.
"Season two opens with the Dessen family settling into a quiet life in a world that finally feels safe, until the unthinkable once again forces them to flee. As Jason’s obsession with the Cube intensifies, Daniela’s growing paranoia pushes her to the brink, threatening to shatter their fragile stability. Meanwhile, elsewhere, Amanda and Ryan join forces in a desperate attempt to find their way home. At the same time, Leighton relentlessly pursues his grand goal of creating a perfect world, while Blair is determined to stop him."
Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly reprise their main roles. Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, Oakes Fegley, and Amanda Brugel also return to their characters.
Blake Crouch remains the showrunner and co-wrote the scripts for all new episodes with Jacquelyn Ben-Zekry. Sony Pictures Television is producing, and Edgerton and Connelly also serve as executive producers on the project.
The second season of "Dark Matter" will consist of ten episodes. The premiere will take place on Apple TV on August 28, after which new episodes will be released on Fridays until October 30.
