Official: Ryan Gosling to Play Ghost Rider in the MCU - Film to be Released in 2028

News 1

Marvel Studios officially announced a solo Ghost Rider film at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The role of Johnny Blaze will be played by Ryan Gosling, who personally took the stage in Hall H during the presentation:

"Wow, is this really happening? As you know, this is a character I've wanted to play for a very long time."

The actor added that he would only entrust this hero to one director, after which he invited Shawn Levy ("Deadpool & Wolverine") to the stage. This will not be the first joint project for Levy and Gosling: they are currently working on the film "Star Wars: Starfighter." According to the director, they spent all their free time on set discussing Ghost Rider:

"When Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, we started improvising. And I finally said, 'Bro, let's do this!' So, guys, see you in 2028."

Details about the film are not yet available. However, it is known that the idea for the comic book basis of the future film belongs to Ryan Reynolds, who will also serve as one of its producers.

The premiere of the new "Ghost Rider" is scheduled for 2028, but Marvel Studios has not yet revealed the exact date.
