Games Workshop has announced the premiere month for the animated series Astartes II set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The sequel will be released in December 2026 on the Warhammer TV streaming service. Along with the announcement, Games Workshop showed two new stills, but they do not provide new details — the company has not yet revealed the exact date, number, or duration of the episodes.
The previously released teaser featured representatives of the Retributors, Mortifactors, Emperor's Scythes, Sons of Medusa, and Blood Angels chapters. The end of the video hints that they will later unite into a Deathwatch Terminator squad, but the company has not yet directly confirmed this detail.
The original Astartes was created solely by 3D artist Syama Pedersen. The fan-made mini-series consisted of five short episodes and made a strong impression on Games Workshop. Subsequently, the company hired the author to work on the official sequel. The influence of Astartes also extended to games: the developers of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 cited the project as one of the benchmarks for creating the image of Space Marines.
