The titles and durations of the first four episodes of the superhero detective series "Lanterns" from HBO and DC Studios have appeared online. Insider Cryptic4KQual reported that they will have the following runtimes:
- Pilot — 57 minutes;
- Trust Fall — 52 minutes;
- OutKast — 54 minutes;
- The Weenie — 52 minutes;
Thus, watching the first half of the eight-episode season will take 3 hours and 35 minutes.
The obtained data almost confirms James Gunn's words, spoken in May 2026. At that time, one fan stated that DC Studios should have made a full-length movie about the Green Lanterns. The head of the studio replied: "So you want to watch an eight-hour movie?". Many then took this remark as a hint at an hour-long duration for each episode.
"Lanterns" will tell the story of two Green Lanterns: the experienced Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, and the rookie John Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre. The heroes investigate a murder in Nebraska, but the case gradually leads them to a larger threat to the entire DCU.
