The developers have prepared new content, updated the interface, and more.

In late July, the creators of the pirate RPG Caribbean Legend introduced a major update 1.9. They warned that this is the penultimate major patch for the game and the last one on the old DirectX engine.

The developers decided to add new events to cities and jungles, solve the problem of constant stunning in combat, and update gameplay mechanics.

For example, weapons have been reworked: "We completely redesigned weapon wear, revamped the control screen, and separated the calibers that can be installed on a ship."

Each ship now carries three different calibers — main, chase, and stern, meaning the game will allow three different types of weapons to be placed on the bow, stern, and gun deck.

The previously hidden mechanic "weapon durability" has now become fully functional:

  • The durability and condition of cannons are averaged across the sides and displayed in all interfaces.
  • Cannons can be repaired at the shipyard.
  • Cannons can be removed and installed directly in combat.
  • Cannons in perfect condition receive bonuses, while destroyed ones incur penalties.
  • The gunner's skill "Bombardier" and the effect of the amulet "Thor's Hammer" no longer prevent cannons from exploding, but enhance the bonuses of intact cannons. Effects stack.

A new weapon control screen has appeared: "The old one was cumbersome and inconvenient, with a lot of unnecessary clicks and a completely useless ability to manually adjust the number of cannons on different sides."

Some other changes and improvements:

  • Now, upon being stunned, any character becomes invulnerable for a short time — previously, players complained about chain stuns.
  • The crew overload mechanic has been removed from the game: "No one ever sailed with an incomplete crew, the presence of three numbers in the interface confused people, and the relationship between overload and morale was unclear."
  • The cost of hiring sailors, their upkeep, and dependence on experience have been completely reworked. Now sailors receive good wages, and it is much more profitable to keep the old crew alive than to hire a new one. Officer payments have been reduced.
  • Opportunities to influence the crew have been expanded: now the player can increase morale and experience once a day by spending resources.
  • "Crew damage" has been changed. Now the crew takes less damage the fewer of them remain. A broadside of grapeshot at an overcrowded and half-empty ship takes a different number of lives. Also, "hull protection" has appeared — now an intact hull slightly reduces damage to the crew, and it makes sense to change ammunition more often.
  • The energy system has been reworked: now it recovers faster, and the recovery rate increases as energy approaches zero. This increases the pace of land battles. For different attacks, "energy costs have been slightly changed."
  • The event generator has been reworked, it "eliminates series and makes encounters in the jungle more unpredictable and varied."

A sale is currently underway, and after it ends, the developers intend to "significantly raise the game's price":

Version 2.0 was a year of hard work for the entire team. When it is released, the game will finally transition from the 2000s to the 2010s. We believe that raising the price for 200 hours of content with good graphics is fair.
