The Board Game Blood and Skulls: The Crucible Will Be Released in Russia - A Path to Madness and Destruction in a Dark Fantasy World
In the future, the narrative board game Blood and Skulls: The Crucible will transport players from Russia to a grim fantasy world, where characters will have to deal with physical pain, emotional breakdowns, and psychological horror, fight monsters, and try not to lose their minds.
Board Zeppelin publishing house announced that it will release the board game Blood and Skulls: The Crucible from Nocturna Games in Russia, designed for 1–4 players.
This is a dark fantasy narrative campaign about the price of power, where participants take on the roles of battle-worn adventurers. The world around them is permeated with a sinister force – the Reflection, which slowly but surely erodes the mind, body, and soul.
It is this destruction mechanic that makes the gameplay of Blood and Skulls: The Crucible truly unique: here you cannot simply “win” – you also need to remain yourself (or at least not go completely insane).
One of the game's strongest features is the system of destruction runes: physical pain, emotional breakdown, and psychological horror. If nine marks are accumulated for any of them, the character is eliminated, leaving behind an “emotional legacy” for allies.
There are also chains of destruction: the deeper the hero sinks into madness or corruption, the stronger their influence on them. In addition, the use of certain items causes addiction, and the character risks falling into dependence, becoming increasingly dependent with each turn.
Adventurers will have to perform rituals to free themselves from what is growing inside them (or become villains).
