Xbox Hit by Massive Online Service Outage
Several sections were affected by the issues.
Microsoft has confirmed widespread issues with Xbox services. As of publication, several key services on the official Xbox status page were marked as "Major Outage."
The problems affected the Account & Profiles, Store & Subscriptions, and Apps sections. As a result, users may experience inability to log into their Xbox account, unexpected disconnections after authorization, and loss of access to features requiring account login. This applies to most games, applications, and social features of the platform.
Additionally, Microsoft reported that some games might temporarily not appear in the Xbox store, and launching certain applications might also be accompanied by errors.
In all three sections of the service status page, it is stated that the cause of the problems has already been identified. Company engineers are currently working to resolve the issue, but the final solution is still in the "In Progress" status.
We are aware that some users are experiencing errors when trying to sign in, view their game library, or launch games. Our engineers are actively working to resolve the issue.
This is the second major outage of gaming services recently. Last week, PlayStation Network faced similar difficulties – the service became unavailable just a few hours after the start of the open beta testing of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. At that time, PS5 users and players of games requiring PSN authorization could not connect to the network for several hours.
