Enthusiasts are striving to bring back content that didn't make it into the game's release version.

In July, a modder known as Scar published a trailer for the large-scale modification Far Cry 3 Project Medusa. He, along with another enthusiast MysteryGamerPL, is preparing something akin to a remaster.

The creators of Far Cry 3 Project Medusa aim to restore "as much as possible" of the cut content from the alpha/beta versions of Ubisoft Entertainment's shooter.

If the modders succeed, Far Cry 3 Project Medusa will include: old visuals (graphics), the original interface, vegetation, materials and textures, enemies, scripts and soundtrack, as well as models (including an older version of the main character) and new weapons.

According to the authors of Far Cry 3 Project Medusa, they are using an early version of the game, dating back to 2011, as a reference.

The developers have not yet announced a release date or window for the large-scale modification.

As far as is known, Ubisoft Entertainment itself is also working on a project for the Far Cry franchise, but not everything is going smoothly. There are reports that the studio has encountered certain problems with the development of the new installment.
