Artist Recreates Vivec from TES III: Morrowind at Lore-Accurate Scale in Unreal Engine 5
The creator decided to return to Morrowind and present a more realistic version of the city.
Artist L.Torres (Leo Torres) continues to delight The Elder Scrolls fans. Recently, he shared new results of his creative experiments with the modern Unreal Engine 5. The creator returned to the world of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind to recreate one of its locations.
This time, his choice fell on the city of Vivec – he recreated it "at a more realistic and lore-accurate scale." Leo Torres explained that this work is part of an ongoing project to visualize the cities of Tamriel in more realistic and lore-accurate sizes (without gameplay limitations and technical constraints):
Vivec at a lore-accurate scale is interesting because the question inevitably arises: add more cantons or larger cantons? My answer is, why not combine both? Vivec is, in a way, "forgiven" for departing from realism because it is, in essence, a demonstration project of a true living god. The layout doesn't have to be logical [...]
For the work, Leo Torres used Unreal Engine 5.8, running on a PC with a GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card. Nanite was used for all models and vegetation, Lumen for global illumination and reflections, and Megalights for lighting. The artist emphasizes that this is simply a visualization, not a modification.
