Xbox gives away PC versions of Ubisoft hits for free to console game owners

Microsoft and Ubisoft have launched the Xbox Console-to-PC program, under which owners of digital versions of certain Ubisoft games on Xbox receive PC copies for free.

Microsoft and Ubisoft have expanded their cooperation by launching the Xbox Console-to-PC program. Now, owners of digital versions of some Ubisoft games on Xbox can get their PC versions for free via Ubisoft Connect.

The promotion includes Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, The Crew Motorfest, Rainbow Six Siege, Skull and Bones, Watch Dogs Legion, and other projects.

Users who purchased digital versions of these games after July 21 immediately gain access to both Xbox and PC editions. For owners of earlier purchases, access is being rolled out in stages – from July 21 to August 4. Ubisoft recommends updating the Ubisoft Connect application to the latest version.

In most cases, purchased editions, season passes, and add-ons will also transfer to PC. Exceptions include in-game currency and some one-time items. If the game supports cross-progression, game progress will also be saved.

However, the promotion only works one way: PC version owners will not receive console copies for free.
