The fantasy action film "Masters of the Universe" has found a second life on home screens. After a weak theatrical run, the film was released on Prime Video on July 22 and has since maintained its lead in most countries where the service is available.
According to FlixPatrol, the film ranks first among movies in 47 out of 52 tracked countries, surpassing "Project 'End of the World'", "A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon", and other projects.
In the overall Prime Video chart, which includes both movies and TV series, "Masters of the Universe" leads in 21 out of 31 countries for which FlixPatrol collects such statistics.
"Masters of the Universe" tells the story of Prince Adam's return to Eternia, which has been captured by Skeletor. The hero must reunite with Teela and Duncan, embrace the power of He-Man, and liberate his homeworld.
The main roles are played by Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, and James Purefoy. Amazon MGM Studios has not yet announced a sequel, but the film's successful launch on Prime Video could play a significant role in the franchise's future.
