From Age of Sigmar to Deathwatch: Amazon Prepares Two Animated Warhammer Projects

Blur Studio has almost completed a short film for the second season of "Secret Level" and has started a separate Warhammer 40,000 series.

Games Workshop, in a recent report, revealed details of two animated projects based on its franchises, which are being developed for Prime Video. Blur Studio, which previously created the short film "No Pity, No Remorse, No Fear" based on Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 for the first season of the "Secret Level" anthology, is responsible for the production of both adaptations.

The first to be released will be an episode of the second season of "Secret Level." Work on it is already nearing completion, and the plot will transport viewers to the Mortal Realms — the fantasy universe of Warhammer: Age of Sigmar.

The second project will be a full-fledged animated series "Deathwatch" based on Warhammer 40,000. The story will tell about a special unit of the Adeptus Astartes, which is engaged in fighting xenos throughout the galaxy. The series' screenwriter is Jon Orloff ("Band of Brothers," "Masters of the Air").

Premiere dates, plot details, and the number of episodes have not yet been disclosed. Games Workshop specifically emphasized that these projects are being developed independently of the Astartes II animated series and the live-action Warhammer 40,000 project with Henry Cavill.
