Artist stopped drawing a graphic novel about a ghoul-Buddhist in the world of Fallout due to the spread of AI technologies
The project's events were supposed to unfold in China.
The Fallout franchise inspires fans around the world. Some players would like to see an official game with events outside the USA, but so far Bethesda Game Studios has not announced anything of the sort. There are already various mods, like Fallout: London, and a graphic novel about events in China could have also appeared.
However, recently the artist LauraMarieWackTats, who had been working on the novel for several years, announced the cessation of work. She published several examples of her works in the Fallout fan community and explained that her decision was influenced by the spread of AI technologies:
I stopped working on this project full-time ever since AI took over much of the digital art world, and I lost a lot of my desire to continue it. So here's all that's left of this project.
The artist had been working on this project since 2022. The idea came to her many years ago after watching the film "Samsara", and she decided to combine her love for "Fallout" with her own spiritual path in Buddhism:
The story tells of a female soldier of the People's Liberation Army of China who, after the war, turns to Buddhism to cope with the end of the world, and her journey through post-war Asia.
