Valve added FSR 4.1 support for Steam Machine and published console CAD files

Valve has released another update for Steam Machine, adding support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4.1 (FSR 4.1) scaling technology via the Proton Experimental branch. At the same time, the company opened access to the device's CAD files and spoke about the progress of sending out purchase invitations.

According to Valve, Steam Machine owners running SteamOS can already test FSR 4.1 in FSR-supported games using Proton Experimental. Since this branch is intended for preliminary testing of new features, users will not have to wait for the release of the next stable version of Proton.

FSR 4.1 is the most modern version of AMD's scaling technology and provides a noticeable improvement in image quality compared to previous generations of FSR. Thanks to integration into Proton Experimental, Steam Machine owners will be able to appreciate the benefits of the new version in compatible projects right now.

In addition, Valve has published Steam Machine CAD files containing precise three-dimensional dimensions of the device's body. This will allow enthusiasts and modders to create accessories with high accuracy, including stands, mounts, interchangeable panels, protective cases, and other compatible elements.
