MobileGamer.biz published AppMagic data on the most downloaded mobile games worldwide for the first half of 2026. The statistics do not include alternative Android stores in China.
The main event of the half-year was a change of leader: Free Fire Max displaced Block Blast from the top spot. Analysts attribute the success of Garena's advanced battle royale version to the increasing power of modern smartphones. The original Free Fire did not even make it into the top 100, indicating a mass migration of the audience to the Max version.
Second place was taken by the puzzle game Block Blast from Hungry Studio, whose performance has been gradually declining since December 2025. Analysts explain this by a seasonal reduction in user acquisition costs. Roblox came in third, also falling short of last year's results due to the absence of new viral hits.
The main new trend of the first half of 2026 was the rapid growth of Arrows puzzles. The genre was popularized by Arrows – Puzzle Escape from Lessmore studio, soon after which Chinese Learnings released the clone Amaze Go. In the final ranking, the games took fourth and ninth places, respectively.
