The Witcher IV is getting closer: experts reveal release date forecast
Analysts at Noble Securities reported that the development of The Witcher IV is on track and nothing threatens the game's release. According to the forecast, the new installment of the series will be released in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The announcement of the “Songs of the Past” expansion for The Witcher 3 sparked discussions. Investors feared that the project might affect the release date of the new game, but experts believe this will not happen.
The announcement of the expansion for The Witcher 3 raised investor concerns about the release date of The Witcher IV, which, in our opinion, is not at risk.
According to analysts, the CD Projekt RED team has grown from 499 to 513 developers. The projected budget for The Witcher 4 was reduced from 1.4 billion zlotys (about $390 million) to 1.26 billion zlotys (about $350 million), as some of the costs were shifted to the expansion.
Noble Securities also raised its estimates for “Songs of the Past”: the budget increased from 52 million zlotys (about $14 million) to 152 million zlotys (about $42 million), and expected first-year sales increased from 11 to 15 million copies.
The report is not official information from CD Projekt RED, but merely an analyst forecast. Currently, there are no signs of a delay for The Witcher IV from the fourth quarter of 2027.
