Fans fixed PC versions of GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas and restored content - the biggest SilentPatch update has been released
The classic games of the Grand Theft Auto 3D trilogy have been available on PC for many years, but Rockstar Games has never fixed some technical issues. Fans have a solution — a huge mod-patch known as "SilentPatch".
The project has been developing for many years, and at the end of July, the biggest content update for SilentPatch was released — it fixes and restores content in the PC versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City, and GTA San Andreas.
The developer published an address to players:
This SilentPatch update is the biggest content update to date: over 100 new fixes have been added to the entire trilogy, many of which restore content that was originally present in the game but did not work due to various issues. Many possible crashes and incompatibilities with mods have been eliminated, and dozens of minor gameplay bugs have been fixed. This year also saw the release of many interesting GTA mods, so if you were thinking of starting a new playthrough — now is the best time to update SP and enjoy these games again!
Now all three games can be configured to run at the desktop refresh rate instead of the standard 60 Hz, NPCs have learned to correctly use RPGs and sniper rifles, traffic generation works better, the interface and some objects have been improved, and animations have been refined.
