The current cut of the film “Dune: Part Three” runs for over three hours. This was reported by World of Reel journalist Jordan Ruimy, citing unnamed sources.
The new information contradicts cinema data. On the IMAX and American AMC network websites, “Dune: Part Three” is still listed with a runtime of 140 minutes. In that case, the finale would be the shortest part of the trilogy: the first “Dune” runs for 155 minutes, and the second for 166 minutes. However, this data appeared during the pre-sale of tickets, when the film's editing was not yet complete, so it cannot be considered final either.
Earlier, Javier Bardem stated that “Dune: Part Three” would go far beyond the novel “Dune Messiah,” and director Denis Villeneuve has repeatedly called the film the culmination of his decade-long work on the trilogy. Nevertheless, Warner Bros. has not yet revealed the official duration of the film, so any information about the runtime should be treated as a rumor.
The premiere of “Dune: Part Three” is scheduled for December 18, 2026.
