Indi Navarrette, star of the horror film “Obsession,” revealed which role she would like to get in the new “X-Men” adaptation. The actress admitted that she has been interested in Mystique since childhood and would be happy to portray her in the Marvel Cinematic Universe:
“Mystique always seemed very cool to me. I remember watching videos about how her makeup and prosthetics were made. All of it fascinated me immensely.”
Navarrette also spoke about meeting with Jake Schreier, the director of the new “X-Men.” According to the actress, she was impressed by how the director brought Marvel's focus back to characters in “Thunderbolts”:
“I felt like Jake brought back what I used to love about Marvel in 'Thunderbolts' — stories built around characters. During the meeting, I just couldn't stop talking about how much I appreciate what he's done for Marvel.”
However, Navarrette emphasized that the conversation with Schreier does not necessarily mean they will work together:
“Not every meeting turns into a project. Sometimes you just tell someone, 'I really want to work with you. I've seen this, this, and this other film of yours.'”
Earlier, insiders claimed that Marvel Studios was considering Navarrette for the role of Rogue, and also that the role of Mystique had already gone to Margot Robbie. Neither of these reports has yet received official confirmation.
