Garena and Kadokawa have unveiled the debut trailer for Free Fire Daybreak — an anime series based on the mobile battle royale game Free Fire. The action will unfold in the futuristic metropolis of New Dawn, ruled by the powerful Horizon corporation.
The main character will be 16-year-old Kelly, who has lost her memories of her own past. The girl will become a participant in the "Project Bloom" experiment and awaken an unusual ability. As her memories return, Kelly will team up with allies to uncover the secrets of the Horizon corporation and save New Dawn.
The anime is directed by Ken Takahashi, who worked on "Jujutsu Kaisen," "Ragna Crimson," and "Sword Art Online." CANDY BOX studio is responsible for the animation, and Sus4 Inc. is handling the musical score. Production is jointly funded by Kadokawa and Garena.
The premiere of Free Fire Daybreak will coincide with the franchise's tenth anniversary. The original Free Fire was released on Android and iOS in 2017 and remains one of the most popular mobile games. According to AppMagic, the improved version, Free Fire Max, became the most downloaded mobile game in the first half of 2026, accumulating approximately 148 million installs.
