Dave Filoni "Went Crazy" While Working on the Second Season of "Ahsoka"

News 1

Ezra Bridger actor Eman Esfandi spoke about the scale of the second season of "Ahsoka" and stated that Dave Filoni significantly raised the stakes for the continuation. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor admitted that the showrunner literally "went crazy" while working on the new episodes:

"Lots of action: fights, battles, explosions, lightsabers, and lasers. I'm already having flashbacks. I think the audience will love it. Dave just went crazy, and we were ready to follow our fearless leader. It's going to be a lot of fun."

On the Thank the Maker podcast, Esfandi compared the development of "Ahsoka" to how the animated series "The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars Rebels" changed over time, gradually evolving into more mature and darker stories:

"You won't believe how massive everything will become. Dave took off the training wheels – from all of us and, in a sense, from himself. If you compare the beginning of 'Rebels' to its finale, you can see how the series gradually turned into an adult drama. The same thing happened with 'The Clone Wars.'"

Details of the second season's plot have not yet been revealed. It is known that Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano, and Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ivanna Sakhno, and Lars Mikkelsen are expected to return. Additionally, Rory McCann ("Game of Thrones") will replace Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll.

The premiere of the second season of "Ahsoka" is expected in 2027. Disney has not yet announced an exact date.
