New actors may appear in the second season of the God of War series for the roles of Atreus and Thrud. According to casting calls discovered by the media, Amazon is looking for actors aged 14 to 17 for characters with the code names Joshua and Ruth. These same pseudonyms were used when casting for the first season.
At that time, the studio was looking for performers aged 9 to 12, and the roles eventually went to Callum Vinson and Island Austin. The new age requirements for actors indicate that the creators of the series plan to show adult characters after a time jump between the events of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok.
Production of the first season is currently suspended due to an injury to Ryan Hurst, who plays Kratos. The actor suffered a serious biceps injury and underwent surgery. According to media reports, recovery could take up to a year, so Amazon has begun searching for a new lead actor. Who will replace Hurst is still unknown. Filming is expected to resume in October.
