Two Witches Under One Roof: ufotable Shows New Posters for "Witch on the Holy Night"
The anime adaptation of TYPE-MOON's visual novel "Witch on the Holy Night" will hit screens in November 2026.
The creators of the full-length anime "Witch on the Holy Night" have unveiled two new posters, united by the common slogan: "A rumor goes around this town that two witches live in the mansion on the hill." The images show the main characters of the story — Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji. The first poster was drawn by Hirokazu Koyama, the artist of the original visual novel, while the second was prepared by ufotable studio, responsible for the adaptation.
The events of "Witch on the Holy Night" unfold in the late 1980s, at the twilight of Japan's Showa era. The story tells of a simple provincial young man, Shizuki Soujuurou, who moves to the snowy city of Misaki and accidentally witnesses real witchcraft. Now he has to live under the same roof with two real witches — the arrogant Aoko Aozaki and the mysterious Alice Kuonji, who decide what to do with the uninvited witness to their magical secrets.
Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa, and Yusuke Kobayashi returned to their roles from the visual novel. They will voice Aoko, Alice, and Soujuurou, respectively.
"Witch on the Holy Night" is based on the TYPE-MOON visual novel of the same name, released on PC in 2012. The script was written by Fate universe creator Kinoko Nasu, and Hirokazu Koyama was responsible for the illustrations. Subsequently, the game received updated versions for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The film's premiere will take place on November 20, 2026, in Japanese cinemas. International distribution has not yet been announced.
