
This is what Final Fantasy XIV looks like on Nintendo Switch 2: a two-hour demonstration has been published
Square Enix has published a demonstration of Final Fantasy XIV on Nintendo Switch 2 with support for touch screen, keyboard and mouse, and Joy-Con 2 controls.
Square Enix showed an almost two-hour demonstration of Final Fantasy XIV on Nintendo Switch 2. The video shows world exploration, questing, battles, and an interface adapted for the new console.
The developers revealed the features of the Switch 2 version. The game will support a touch screen for convenient interface and inventory management. It will be possible to use a keyboard and mouse, as well as control the cursor with Joy-Con 2 controllers.
New players will get access to an extended free trial version, including four full chapters. It will allow them to complete a significant part of the story without subscribing. The main story can still be played solo with AI-controlled allies.
Final Fantasy XIV will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 4, 2026. Simultaneously, Square Enix will release new updates and additional content for all platforms where the MMORPG is available.
