Henry Cavill will serve as executive producer for the animated series "Deathwatch" set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which is being co-developed by Amazon MGM Studios, Blur Studio, and Games Workshop.
The animated series will be a spin-off of the anthology "Secret Level" and will continue the story begun in the episode "And They Shall Know No Fear." The plot will center on the Deathwatch – an elite unit of Space Marines specializing in the extermination of xenos. Other details of the project are currently being kept under wraps.
Dave Wilson, who directed the Warhammer 40,000 episode for "Secret Level," will serve as director and co-writer for the series. He is developing the script with Jon Orloff, who worked on "Band of Brothers" and "Masters of the Air." Executive producers also include "Secret Level" creator Tim Miller, Natalie Viscuso, Roy Lee, and Games Workshop representative Andy Smillie.

In parallel, Amazon continues to work on a live-action series based on Warhammer 40,000, in which Cavill is expected to play the main role and also serve as executive producer. Release dates for both projects have not yet been announced.
