AMC has unveiled the first teaser poster for the fourth and final season of "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon," confirming plans to release the final chapter in 2027. The publication is accompanied by the phrase "It all led to this," which once again sparked discussions about a possible meeting between Daryl and Rick Grimes.
Scott Gimple, chief content officer of "The Walking Dead" universe, previously admitted that he hopes to bring the characters together someday, so some fans consider the end of Daryl's European journey a suitable moment for the long-awaited reunion. The poster itself, however, contains no such hints, and Andrew Lincoln's participation in the series has not yet been confirmed.
The spin-off's story began with Daryl's appearance in France. Over three seasons, the hero crossed several European countries, reunited with Carol, and continued to search for his way home. By the time the final season premieres, Norman Reedus will have been playing this role for 17 years: the character first appeared in the original "The Walking Dead" in 2010.
The final season will consist of eight episodes. Along with Reedus, Melissa McBride will return to her role. The exact premiere date has not yet been announced. Earlier, the actor promised that the series finale "will feel different and hit hard." However, whether this means that the character will no longer appear in other franchise projects is still unknown.
