Despite the experiment with the action-RPG The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, Owlcat will not abandon the development of classic cRPGs

Owlcat Games studio is known to many players for hardcore classic cRPGs such as Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous and Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. However, one of its new projects is made in a different format – next year, the third-person action-RPG The Expanse: Osiris Reborn will be released.

In a recent interview with PCGamesN, which was timed to Owlcat Games' 10th anniversary, creative director Alexander Mishulin dispelled the fears of cRPG connoisseurs – games in this genre will continue to be made:

We will continue to make cRPGs because we love them. We don't want to stagnate – we will try different approaches to our RPG games, looking for the best solution for each specific idea.

Mishulin explained that the developers want to create games that they themselves would want to play:

[The studio still] strives to maintain our original core, our values: we want to create the best possible RPGs – we love them, we play them, they inspire us. And we want our games to feel the same way – so that we ourselves want to play them, and so that they, in turn, inspire someone else to create even better games.

Currently, Owlcat Games is developing not only The Expanse: Osiris Reborn but also the cRPG Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy about an Inquisitorial acolyte. The game does not yet have a specific release date or window; you can add it to your Steam wishlist via the following link.
