Steam Frame will be "very expensive" and Valve will reveal details soon - insider
Tyler Mcvicker, a well-known Half-Life community blogger and insider specializing in Valve content, recently spoke about Steam Frame during a broadcast. In his opinion, this wireless virtual reality headset with controllers will be very expensive.
Tyler Mcvicker said that he previously assumed the price would be around "$1100." However, the insider now believes that Valve will sell the VR device at a higher price – up to $1500.
Valve may fully announce Steam Frame this week. It is possible that the presentation could take place as early as today, August 3 (Monday).
A promo page for Steam Frame was previously opened in the Steam store. On it, Valve described the features of the model. For example, custom-made thin and light pancake lenses are used, which should provide clarity of the entire image and a large field of view: "The optical system includes two 2160 x 2160 pixel LCD panels, one for each eye. Supported refresh rate: from 72 to 144 GHz."
