The game was once a Sony console exclusive.

An enthusiast under the nickname Kravickas has introduced a new modification patch for Driveclub, which significantly improves the performance of the iconic PlayStation 4 racing exclusive on PC via the shadPS4 emulator. The update allows the game to run at 1440p, 4K, and even 8K resolutions, as well as unlock the frame rate with a separate 60 FPS patch.

Before this solution, the game was limited to 1080p resolution, which made the image appear noticeably less sharp. The new patch eliminates this drawback: textures become significantly sharper, and the anti-aliasing effect is noticeably improved. The difference is especially noticeable on road surfaces and small environmental details.

To install the modification, users need to follow several steps: clear the shader cache, enable shader dumping in shadPS4 settings, disable Shader Cache, generate the necessary files, activate the patch_shaders parameter in the game configuration, and copy the XML patch to the appropriate emulator folder. After that, all that remains is to enable resolution patches and launch the game.

The modification's performance has already been demonstrated by the Unreal Gaming YouTube channel, comparing image quality at 1080p, 4K, and 8K. At higher resolutions, the picture looks noticeably cleaner, and blurring and jaggies practically disappear.

Despite the ability to unlock the frame rate to 60 FPS, achieving a stable 60 frames per second is not yet possible. The demonstration used a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and GeForce RTX 4080, but even this configuration is limited by the emulator.
