Attack on Titan 3 Gets Release Date and New Gameplay Trailer
The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force studio have officially announced the release date for Attack on Titan 3. The new installment in the series will go on sale on December 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam).
Pre-orders for most platforms began simultaneously with the announcement. Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait a bit longer – pre-orders for this version will open later.
The developers have prepared several editions of the game. In addition to the standard version, players will be offered the SteelBook Launch Edition with a metal case, a double-sided ICONART poster, and exclusive in-game cosmetic items. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available, which will include a digital artbook, equipment and item sets, additional costumes, and 72-hour early access to the game. However, this option is not available to Switch 2 owners.
Early purchasers will receive a bonus Wings of Freedom Hoodie costume, and for digital pre-orders, developers will give away Wings of Freedom Earrings. In addition, owners of Attack on Titan 2 or Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle save data will be able to receive a special in-game gift. Details about it are promised to be revealed later.
According to Koei Tecmo, Attack on Titan 3 will be a culmination of the game series. The project will allow players to relive the franchise's story from the very beginning to the end, combining events from previous games and adding completely new story episodes. One of the main innovations will be the first appearance of the Nine Titans in the game series, with whom players will have to fight in new large-scale battles.
The developers have also reworked the three-dimensional maneuvering system. Movement through the air has become more free and dynamic, and the Titans themselves have received more diverse and unpredictable behavior patterns. This should make battles more challenging and require players to adapt faster to enemy actions. For newcomers, a simplified control mode is provided, allowing them to perform spectacular maneuvers without having to master complex combinations.
