The name of the next actor to play James Bond may be announced by the end of 2026. Producer Amy Pascal revealed this in an interview with Deadline. When asked if news about the casting should be expected in the coming months, she replied that the end of the year seems like a very likely timeframe, but the team does not intend to rush the decision:
"I would say that the end of the year is a good option. We are acting very, very methodically. Working with Barbara Broccoli in the studio, I understand that Daniel Craig is very difficult to surpass. And it has to be something really different, exciting, thrilling, and unusual."
Previously, media outlets named Jacob Elordi ("Euphoria"), Callum Turner ("Masters of the Air"), and Harris Dickinson ("Triangle of Sadness") as possible candidates, but none of the names have been officially confirmed. However, the only actor whose auditions were reported by reputable publications was the little-known theater actor Tom Francis.
