Marriage with a Hitman: "Hotaru no Yomeiri" Teaser Released by David Production

The new drama from the creators of "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" premieres on October 9.

The creators of the anime "Hotaru no Yomeiri" (Firefly Wedding) have unveiled a new teaser and announced the exact premiere date – the adaptation of Ooreko Tachibana's manga of the same name will begin airing on October 9.

The events unfold during the Meiji era. Satoko Kirigaya was born into a wealthy family and possesses great beauty, but a serious illness leaves her with little time. The girl hopes to find a worthy suitor in time to thank her father, who cared for her.

Satoko's plans are ruined after she is kidnapped. Finding herself in mortal danger, the heroine meets the hitman Shimpei Goto and offers him marriage in exchange for help. The engagement, intended as a ruse, takes an unexpected turn: Shimpei takes the offer seriously and begins to consider Satoko his destined bride.

The main characters are voiced by Lynn and Koki Uchiyama. The production is handled by David Production, known for "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" and the new adaptation of "Urusei Yatsura". Takahiro Kamei serves as director, Yuko Kakihara writes the script, and Yukiko Aikei is responsible for character design.

The original "Hotaru no Yomeiri" ran from 2023 to 2026 and concluded with eleven volumes. The manga's total circulation exceeded four million copies. It also won the grand prize at the Electronic Comic Award 2024 and took first place in the list of recommended comics by booksellers for 2024.
