The creators of the anime "Shozen" presented the first full trailer for the series and announced the premiere window — April 2027. The project will be an adaptation of Jiang Jia Meizi's fantasy manhwa, which is published on the Bilibili Manga platform.
The story centers on the wandering Taoist Dozen, who meets a human girl raised among yokai. She knows nothing of human feelings and attachments, so the hero gives her the name Shozen, takes her as his apprentice, and embarks on a journey with her. Along the way, the girl will learn to understand people, distinguish between good and evil, and discover compassion.
The main character will be voiced by Rina Kawaguchi, and her mentor Dozen by Hiroshi Kamiya. The cast also includes Daisuke Sakuma as Ryojin, Aoi Yuki as Kensei, and Ayumu Murase, who will voice Chiro.
Itsuro Kawasaki, known for his work on "Psycho-Pass," "The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting," and "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex," serves as the director and screenwriter for the series. Eri Osada is responsible for character design, and Taku Iwasaki is composing the music. Production is handled by Dangun Pictures and Cannon Code studios.
