Mojang Studios has officially announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft will be available on October 27. Owners of the game for the original Switch will be able to upgrade to the new edition through a digital upgrade program, but details on the cost and terms of the upgrade will be revealed later by the developers.
The main advantage of the Switch 2 version will be support for Vibrant Visuals mode, which will be enabled by default. Thanks to it, the game will receive improved lighting, higher quality shadows, and other graphic effects that make the blocky world noticeably more modern. New visual capabilities will also be supported in compatible content from the Minecraft Marketplace.
In addition, the update will include the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, exclusive to Nintendo consoles. It will be adapted to the capabilities of Vibrant Visuals so that Switch 2 owners can see the familiar world of Mario with updated graphics.
