Capcom has unveiled a new story trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, titled "Severing Fates."

In the fresh video, the protagonist Musashi journeys to the Yasui Konpiragu Shrine, known in Japan as a place where people pray to sever unwanted ties and begin a new chapter in life. However, instead of a peaceful sanctuary, the warrior encounters a distorted supernatural entity that preys on visitors who come to make a wish.

Capcom also confirmed that in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, players will be able to visit many locations inspired by real Kyoto landmarks. One of them will be the Yasui Konpiragu Shrine, which is recreated in the game in a dark fantasy interpretation.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be released on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store). Additionally, a free demo is already available on all platforms except Nintendo Switch 2, allowing players to experience the combat system and atmosphere of the new installment in the series.
