This summer, Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment returned to Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The game received an update on PC and consoles, introducing two new outfits.
Many appreciated one cell-shaded look in the style of the fighting game MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, but questions arose about the quality of the suit in the style of the movie "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".
Players compared the in-game version to the movie and noted a problem with color choices. The developers responded to the feedback and recently announced the release of an update:
We've released a new update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which includes improvements to the Fresh Start suit based on player feedback. Update version 1.005.001 is now available.
User Phil_lane_ compared the "Before / After" suit:
Not everyone appreciated the new version — some users found the blue inserts in the new suit version too bright. However, Phil_lane_ expressed the opinion that this is a small price to pay for the overall improvement in the quality of the look:
It's a little brighter than the movie, but I think that's partly due to the [in-game] lighting, and it's a small price to pay for what is otherwise a huge improvement. Including the suit damage option.
Previously, one enthusiast brought the Spider-Man suit from Fortnite into Marvel's Spider-Man 2 — some players believe that the Epic Games team did a better job of presenting the movie's look from "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" in the game.
