David Johnson's character might be introduced in the finale of the Multiverse Saga.

David Johnson will make his first appearance as the new T'Challa in "Avengers: Secret Wars." This was reported by insider Daniel Richtman. Marvel has not yet officially announced the character's participation in the film.

The studio introduced Johnson as the actor for T'Challa II at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The actor is known for the films "Alien: Romulus" and "The Long Walk."

According to Kevin Feige, director Ryan Coogler chose Johnson after a secret meeting held about six months before Comic-Con:

"Coogler called me after the meeting and said, 'This is him. I feel and see it in his soul. He's a good man, a wonderful man, and he can embody Black Panther.' We replied, 'That's it.' What else do you need if Ryan Coogler saw and felt it?"

If the information is confirmed, the hero's appearance in "Secret Wars" will allow Marvel to introduce audiences to an adult T'Challa before the start of his solo story. Similarly, the original Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman, debuted in "Captain America: Civil War" two years before the release of his solo film.

"Avengers: Secret Wars" will be released on December 17, 2027, and the premiere of "Black Panther 3" will take place on December 15, 2028.
