From the director of "One-Punch Man" and Madhouse studio: a teaser for the dystopia ghost - end of night has been released
Bandai Namco Filmworks has unveiled a teaser for the original anime film ghost — end of night by director Shingo Natsume. The action unfolds in the near future, where people no longer need to work, and society is maintained only by its outstanding representatives. At 18, everyone undergoes a "selection" that determines whether they are needed in this world.
The main character is Nike, a talented girl who received privileged status at the age of 15. She controls the "starry sky" within a virtual reality network, but even among the chosen, she feels like an outsider and tries to find her own place in an unjust society. During her search, Nike meets Masa, a man who lost his family and wanders aimlessly through the world.
Madhouse studio is responsible for the production, and Shingo Natsume serves as both director and screenwriter for the film. He previously worked on the first season of "One-Punch Man," Sonny Boy, "ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.," and "The Tatami Galaxy." ghost — end of night will be his first original feature-length project. The director himself describes his concept as follows:
"Through animation — an art form that can be considered a type of fiction — I want to create a work that reflects the spirit of our time and strives for a sense of realism."
Character concepts were prepared by manga artist Natsume Ono, and Norifumi Kugai is responsible for their design. Music is composed by Ozora Kimishima. Hitsujibungaku created six compositions for the film, including Sugar, which is featured in the teaser.
The premiere of ghost — end of night will take place in Japanese cinemas on February 11, 2027. The international release date is not yet known.
