The project is designed for MMORPG fans who no longer have time for endless grinding.

Metashift Labs has launched the playtest for Dominus Automa – an automated MMORPG that developers call a game for "busy adults who no longer have endless hours for gaming." The team has brought the principles of idle-RPGs from smartphones to a full-fledged PC project, offering an online game where the user chooses a class, abilities, combat style, and hero priorities. After that, the character trains, fights, gathers resources, and crafts items around the clock, even after the player exits the game. The developers also promise the ability to check progress and issue commands from a smartphone or via voice.

Despite automatic progression, Dominus Automa will offer familiar MMORPG elements: cooperative world exploration, dungeons, boss battles, guild wars, and a player-driven economy. The main idea of the project is to allow users to choose what content to engage with, without the need to adhere to a constant gaming schedule.

"From the very beginning, we built Dominus Automa around one simple idea: your game schedule shouldn't dictate your progress. Play when it's convenient for you and move at your own pace."

The test version includes progression up to level 25, 24 skills, ten locations, 20 types of enemies, and three bosses. The Dominus Automa playtest will run from August 7 to August 23. You can join it on the game's Steam page.
