Lies of P director Choi Ji-won shared his initial expectations for the sequel. According to him, the developers aim to make the new game not only engaging but also capable of evoking strong emotions in players:
"The next project we're working on will be truly interesting and, I hope, will touch you deeply. We are doing our best to make it as good as possible. So please, wait a little longer. You won't be disappointed. It's true, not a lie."
The developer shared this in the documentary Games by Gamers, dedicated to the internal culture of the Nough studio — a division of Round8 that worked on Lies of P. The team's name comes from the expression "not enough," but without the first letter. According to the developers, it reflects their attitude towards game creation:
"We are never enough. There's always room to grow, so during development, we constantly improve games, because they can always be made better."
One of Nough's main principles has been the concept of "games by gamers." Choi Ji-won believes that the audience can feel how seriously developers approached their project:
"Players always feel it. As a gamer, I know they can tell when a game is made with true dedication. So during development, we always look at the game from the players' perspective first."
The team regularly conducts joint testing, during which employees, along with Ji-won, play through the game and evaluate its structure. The feedback received forms the basis for subsequent iterations:
"We are gamers first, and then developers. Therefore, we constantly test and refine the game without compromise until every team member is truly satisfied with the result."
The Lies of P sequel is already in active production. Earlier, Neowiz announced that the team is working on a vertical slice — a version that should demonstrate the main mechanics, visual style, and overall direction of the sequel.
The plot, platforms, and release dates for the new installment have not yet been revealed. The original Lies of P was released in 2023, and in 2025, it received the Overture story expansion. Game sales exceeded 3 million copies.
