Silent Hill 2 Remake is Broken on PlayStation 5 - KONAMI Responds to Update Criticism

News

Recently, Polish studio Bloober Team returned to Silent Hill 2 and released update 1.07 for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles. It was intended to improve the performance of the remake in “Quality” and “Performance” modes.

The developers also noted that this patch eliminates shadow flickering and reduces some visual artifacts that may occur during movement, and “improves the overall visual quality” of the game.

Blogger “Aksiy” drew attention to a problem with the “Performance” mode on PS5 Pro:

According to the blogger, there are no problems in “Quality” mode.

Other players also complained about this mode. KONAMI noticed the community feedback and published an appeal — the developers are preparing to fix the problems:

We would like to confirm that we are aware of recent issues affecting the “Performance” mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro in Silent Hill 2 after the release of patch 1.07. Our team is currently investigating these issues and looking for possible solutions. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will share more information as soon as it becomes available.
